Cooperative Learning Sample Lesson
Cooperative Learning Sample Lesson Cooperative learning is a great technique to implement into your curriculum. As you begin to think about and design this strategy to fit into your teaching, consider using the following tips. Present the material first, cooperative learning comes after students are taught.Choose your strategy and explain how it works to the students. For this sample lesson, students will be using the jigsaw strategy.Assess students individually. Although students will work together as a team they will also be working individually to complete a specific task. Here is a cooperative learning sample lesson using the the Jigsaw method. Choosing Groups First, you must choose your cooperative learning groups. An informal group will take about one class period or the equivalent to one lesson plan period. A formal group can last from several days to several weeks. Presenting the Content Students will be asked to read a chapter in their social studies books about the first nations of North America. Afterward, read the childrens book The Very First Americans by Cara Ashrose. This is a story about how the first Americans lived. It shows the students beautiful pictures of art, clothing, and other Native American artifacts. Then, show students a brief video about Native Americans. Teamwork Now its time to divide students into groups and use the jigsaw cooperative learning technique to research the First Americans. Divide students into groups, the number depends on how many subtopics you want the students to research. For this lesson divide students into groups of five students. Each member of the group is given a different assignment. For example, one member will be responsible for researching the First American customs; while another member will be in charge of learning about the culture; another member is responsible for understanding the geography of where they lived; another must research the economics (laws, values); andà the last member is responsible for studying the climate and how the first American got food, etc. Once students have their assignment they can go off on their own to research it by any means necessary. Each member of the jigsaw group will meet with another member from another group that is researching their exact topic. For example, students that researching the First Americans culture would meet regularly to discuss information, and share information on their topic. They are essentially the expert on their particular topic. Once students have completed their research on their topic they return to their original jigsaw cooperative learning group. Then each expert will now teach the rest of their group everything that they learned. For example, the customs expert would teach members about the customs, the geography expert would teach members about the geography, and so on. Each member listens carefully and takes notes on what each expert in their groups discusses. Presentation: Groups can then give a brief presentation to the class on the key features that they learned on their particular topic. Assessment Upon completion, students are given a test on their subtopic as well as on the key features of the other topics that they learned in their jigsaw groups. Students will be tested on the First Americans culture, customs, geography, economics, and climate/food. Looking for more information about cooperative learning? Here is the official definition, group management tips and techniques, and effective learning strategies on how to monitor, assign and manage expectations.

A Call to Men ââ¬ÅEnding Violence Against Womenââ¬Â Essay Example
A Call to Men ââ¬Å"Ending Violence Against Womenâ⬠Essay Example A Call to Men ââ¬Å"Ending Violence Against Womenâ⬠Essay A Call to Men ââ¬Å"Ending Violence Against Womenâ⬠Essay A call to men ââ¬Å"Ending Violence against Womenâ⬠Ted Bunch is the co-founder of A CALL TO MEN: The National Association of Men and Women Committed to Ending Violence against Women. Ted Bunch addresses NCC students and faculty about the domestic and sexual violence prevention and the promotion of healthy manhood. Mr. Bunch talks about the ââ¬Å"the Man Box ââ¬Å"where he showed images of athletes, rappers, wrestlers, cops, Etc. He stated that men are restricted, confined, and boxed in. Not all men fit this description. Men are part of the solution and part of the problem. Bunch discuss The Socialization of Men, that men are taught to view women as having less value than men and treating them as property, and how men arenââ¬â¢t suppose to cry or openly express emotions with the exception of anger. He also talked about (Heterosexist) men often say do not be like a ââ¬Å"gay manâ⬠stating that men should not part take in feminine activities. There are times I often see women constantly getting abuse by their boyfriends/ husbands out in public and no one stopping them. One day when I was out hanging out with friends I saw a couple arguing by the park, I watch this woman get verbally abuse by this guy, then all of a sudden the guy hit her. Me and my friends approached the couple told the man to back off; when the guy left we called 911 cause the woman was really hurt. Its hard for women to say what they know men should do-because men will hear the message differently whether its coming from a man or woman. All men are not perpetrators of domestic violence, it does clearly exist and itââ¬â¢s important to learn how sexism, male dominance and male privilege lay the foundation for all forms of violence against women. Having a education for all high school and university students and faculty against sexual and domestic violence will help such actions from happening.

Do online classes provide a good education Essay
Do online classes provide a good education - Essay Example I thanked her, responded to her congratulating comments with extreme gratitude and instantly dialed my motherââ¬â¢s number after putting my instructorââ¬â¢s phone down. She was excited to hear of my achievement but not as much as I had expected. The reason was obvious. It was not that she wasnââ¬â¢t happy that her only daughter had scored wonderfully in her college finals but it was actually that the thought of the completion of the degree program had revived in her the concern that she was unable to support my university education on her own. Being a single parent she had always maintained the roles of both a mother and a father for me. She had never made me feel how hard she worked to earn the bread and butter for both of us. But now that I had reached passed out college, it was about time that if I wanted to continue my education I should be able to do it by earning for the expenses on my own. I couldnââ¬â¢t help but smile and thank God! This was me four years ago and today I had completed my university degree. Sitting in the comfortable chair of my recently renovated office I sipped from my coffee mug and bid farewell to the webpage of my online university that had been the most surfed pages in my internet surfing history for the past four years. I had been able to complete my university degree along with earning the finances for it myself by working as a junior credit analyst at an accountancy firm and also pursuing my ACCA degree in an online university simultaneously. I must admit that I was pretty skeptical at first. But almost five years down the memory lane, I would suggest anyone who takes an advice from me to pursue an online degree for higher education especially if it meant to be at a far away physical location as it was in my case. A resident of a third world country by birth, I had always aspired to fulfill my

Legalizition of Recreational Drugs Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Legalizition of Recreational Drugs - Essay Example In fact, the Eskimos are the only people lacking tradition because they have been unfortunate to grow anything and wait for other people to bring them alcohol. The use of drug is justified in that it represents human appetite. The question of drug legalization either for medicinal or recreational value refers to whether or not people should be allowed to legally sell, buy, and use drugs for their own personal pleasure. Human beings have used psychoactive drugs as back as many centuries ago. Many drugs are produced naturally by plants and easily accessed by people in society where they grow. Therefore, recreational drugs should be legalized in society and stop criminalization of people. If recreational are not legalized, criminalizing this drugs will cause more harm than good since it will create large profitable industry which supply these drugs. In addition, it will increase level of crime in society when people try to finance habits of the users. Psychoactive drugs have been incorp orated in social events such as celebrations, religious ceremonies, and rites of passage. When discussing the issue of recreational drugs, it is sensible to talk about the harm associated with these drugs. Drugs can be taken on regular basis with no ill basis but long-term exposure and intake of drugs is harmful. Majority of people die from drug induced causes such as organ damage, heart attack, and even overdose. Apart from the self-inflicted harm, there is harm that is caused to others in society such as increased crime rate from users who cannot control their system since drugs consumed inhibits their legitimate decisions. Theft and muggings are commonly associated with addiction and women who are under the influence of drugs would engage in prostitution without their own convictions to do so. Children born in families where parents are drug userââ¬â¢s end up homeless while family resources are depleted. The idea of selling and using drugs has both legal and moral issues. On o ne hand, if the government legalized the use of drugs in society, we can deduce whether application of such drugs is immoral or not. If the law allows an individual to engage or do certain things, it does not mean that the person should do it. On the other hand, even if use of drugs is not morally acceptable we can question ourselves whether the use of such drugs is illegal or not. The law has many flaws in that it allows us to do many things that are immoral such as saying lies to other people. These are some of the things that people should avoid morally; we do not tolerate situations where the laws command us on how to lead private lives (Clifford 52-53). The whole purpose and motive of using recreational drugs is for pleasure that they produce to the user. Search for pleasure comes natural to us as human beings. It is human nature that people are pleasure seeking and what makes life enjoyable is in pleasure of larger variety. There are pleasures in food, drugs, or romance. This way brain chemistry is altered in manner that provides unique pleasure to our body and through this; we seek what can bring pleasures in our lives (Clifford 55). Human beings seek pleasure in moderation, whereby pursuing pleasure is morally acceptable

Culture Collision Essay Example for Free
Culture Collision Essay Culture collisions has been both positive negative to those involved such as Columbus and his run in with the Natives Americans, French revolution and the Haitian slaves, and African Imperialism. In any culture, subculture, or family in which belief is valued above thought, and self-surrender is valued above self-expression, and conformity is valued above integrity, those who preserve their self-esteem are likely to be heroic exception. In the culture collisions I learned about most was trying to change others culture and views on life in this eassy I will give more backgrand on the positive and negatives of the collisions of new worlds like Columbus and the new American, Haitia revolution, and Africans new way of life. I start my culture collision with a young sailer by the name of Christopher Columbus and his run in with the Native Americans. Columbus sailed for Spain but was from Itialy. Columbus search was for spices. He thought by sailing west across the Atlantic it would bring a ship to Eastern Asia. His plans made sense, but columbus greatly underestimated earths size, and had no idea that two continents lay in his path. Once columbus got to the new world he call the natives, Indiains thinking he was in Asia. As soon as I arrived in the Indies, on the first Island which I found, I took some of the natives by force in order that they might learn and might give me information of whatever there is in these parts.(-christopher columbus 1492). After finding out that these people was not what they seem, Columbus and the Natives American made a treaty. The natives were good neighbood they tought Columbus how there lands works, and ways to serve the land. Columbus used this new found world to bring European, Americans, and African cultures together. Not only did he collied the culture he brought foods and animals. Even though the collision had good turn out there was a down fall of this collision with Columbus inhumain way of treating the Natives Americans. In two years, through murder, mutilation, or suicide, half of the 250,000 Indians on Haiti were dead.(-Zinn,). Columbus killed many of the Natives Americans after friending them. After they though him what he needed to know they was not use to him. Even though Columbus collied, the world at what cost was that to all the lifes he took. The next culture collisions was the revolution of Haiti and French,à starting with Napoleon against a free slave named Toussaint LOuverture. Haiti had heared to Enlightenment Thinkers talk of equal rights and thought that they should be intitled to the rights also. Napoleon started out as an Italian general and ended up being one of the greatest historical figures. First, Directors requested Napoleons support while organizing a coup detat. Then, Bonaparte fought Britain in order to benefit France. Lastly, he was called to help creating a new constitution and ended up as the First Consul of France. At home, he ruled using flattery, but also he strongly resisted the opposition. Napoleon is a pro-revolutionist because he denied all the privileges of the aristocracy, created a new constitution, and also established the Napoleonic Code.(-Brainard, 1998-2008)Neapoleon was one of the greatest generals who ever lived. But at the end of the 18th century a self-educated slave with no military training drove napoleon out of Haiti and led his country to indepenence. The remarkable leader of this slave revolt was Toussaint Breda (later called toussaint louverture, and sometimes the black napoleon). Slave revolts from this time normally ended in executions and failure, this time was different.(-Brainard,1998-2008). Toussaint become the leader of the slaves rebellion. He successfully fought the French who were helped by succumbing to yellow fever in large numbers as well as invading Spanish and British( who wanted to take down napoleon for the beheading of the king and queen). After the French Revolution was in the hands of Jacobins, who leaded the Reign of Terror. So Napoleon and LOuverture agree to terms of peace by giving them there indepenence. A few months later louverture was invited to come to a negotiating meeting will full safe conduct. When he got there napoleon betrayed the safe conduct and arrested him, putting him on a ship. Napoleon ordered that louverture be placed in a prison dungeon in the mountains, and murdered by means of cold, starvation, and neglect. Louverture died in prison,(-Brainard, 1998-2008)but others carried on his fight and six months later napoleon gave up his fight. This collisions allowed the indepenence of haiti. In africa, Europeons wanted the copper, ivory, gold, and diamonds the africans held in there mines. Africanââ¬â¢s used slavery as a part of their everyday life. When the Europeans arrived overseas in Africa they wereà intrigued by this idea of slavery. They felt that the African people were used to the hot weather and long and hard working days. They thought of the blacks as inferior as well. They needed people to do their labor in the New World and were sent over in the African Slave Trade (Corretti,1500-1800). Slavery had a different meaning in the New World than it did in Europe. People were considered chattel in the New World. This means that one human was the property of another human. The Europeans needed to find people to keep up with the labor on the plantations in the new world (Corretti, 1500-1800).Europeons capitalists carved up the continents in order to ensure their wealth. Many english, french, and germans travelled to make africans chistian. Europeons inslaved these africans and spilt families apart. Africans resistance to the imperialism. Shaka Zulu led the Zulu people againist the Boers and Brithish. Brilliantly fought off troops for 30 years. In the end Britin control Southen Africa. Yaa Asantewaa led the Asante Kingdom against the British in West Africa. Last battle in series of 100 years of war between Asante and England. Menelik the second led Ethiopia against Europeon colonists. Hired Europeons to teach them how to read and use Europeons weapons. In 1896, Ethiopia smashed the Italians; Ethiopia was never colonized.(-malone,2012) Beside ethiopia, the African Imperialism was a negitive culture collision it had no effects on the world in my eyes just the europeon mading others do there durty work. In conclusion, culture collisions privde to be both positive and negitive. Not one collisions had one with out the other, Columbus didnt decover a New World but brought others together. But then again in his process of doing so he mistreated kind people and almost whiped out the native race. With the Haitian and French Revolution Napoleon ketp the haitain in slaved when he came to power. In the African Imperialism they inslave most of africa because of there industalition and need hard workers for little to no pay after the child labor laws. Well without any of these collisions we wouldnt be living in the kind of world we do now.

Free Essays: A Comparison of Iliad and Odyssey :: comparison compare contrast essays
A Comparison of Iliad and Odyssey à Although both works are credited to Homer, The Iliad and The Odyssey provide two remarkably different views on the nature of the Olympian Gods, their relationship to humanity, and the general lot of mortals throughout their all too brief lives. As a result of these differences, both stories end up sending contrasting messages about life in general. In the Iliad, the supernatural denizens of Olympus are depicted as treacherous, power-hungry, and above all temperamental beings that are always at each other's throats. Factionalism abounds, and neither the bonds of marriage, nor the ties of kinship can contain keep it under control. A perfect example is when Ares betrays his mother, Hera, and his sister, Athene, by aiding the Trojans instead of the Greeks. When he is discovered, Athena strikes him down in battle through Diomedes. In the Odyssey, however, the Gods of Olympus display far more unity and civility toward each other. They argue and disagree, but their disagreements are never carried out to the extremes found in the Iliad. When Poseidon punishes Odysseys for blinding the Cyclopes, Athena does not take revenge. Even though Odyssey's is her favorite mortal, she respects Poseidon's right to punish him. Also, the treachery among the Gods that is so prevalent in the Iliad, is nowhere to be found in the Odyssey. à In Iliad, Hera, enters into a conspiracy with Poseidon, Aphrodite, and Morpheus to aid the Greeks by putting Zeus to sleepÃâ° thus rendering him unable to help his beloved Trojans. Nothing like this incident can be found in the Odyssey. References to past disagreements and arguments between the Gods (such as in the Poet's tale of Ares and Aphrodite) are scattered throughout the book, however, so the views between the Iliad and the Odyssey are not exactly diametrically opposed. The role of the Gods in the affairs of humanity is much greater in the Iliad then in the Odyssey. In the Iliad, the Olympians are constantly meddling in the conflict between the Greeks and the Trojans. At best, they view mortals as amusing petsÃâ° to be cared for, played with, and loved. At worst, humans are just pawns to be shuffled around, sacrificed, and set against each other in order to resolve inter-Olympian ego-clashes.

Consumers Attitude Toward Apartment in Bangladesh Essay
All the actions have a motivational component that led him towards an action or behavior. A person needs, wants, interests and motives are changing and consumersââ¬â¢ behaviors are directed accordingly. Most of the businesses are on the principle of profit maximization and on the other hand consumers goals are to maximize their utility and satisfaction. As far apartment is concerned developers want their profit maximization and utility and satisfaction from consumersââ¬â¢ point of view. Housing or shelter is a physiological need for every human being. Purpose of the report This report is one of the requirements of our consumer behavior course. Despite this, we tried to evaluate and examine those factors that motivated them to undertake a buying decision and their perception and attitude towards apartment. Objectives of the report Identify and analyze the motivational factors that lead to consumers to buy an apartment, their perception about the apartment and market condition and trend in Real Estate Business. Scope of the report The report is a product of existing practices in the market. We were encouraged to reveal the current participation in the real estate business. In our report we examined the consumer behavior and learning (knowledge & information) towards owning an apartment. For our report we have prepared a questionnaire and asked people living in an apartment and potential buyers as well as people who are willing to rent an apartment. The other side of the coin that is developers is not responsive as far as cost profit and promotions are concerned. They are responsive to reply the questions of segment, target market and potentiality of the industry. Limitation of the report Time was the prime factor that dictates us to lower our sample size. Initially we tried to conduct 25 people (both living in an apartment and potential buyers) and 5 developers but in reality we conducted 15 (both living in an apartment and potential buyers) and three developers. Companyââ¬â¢s management was not so much cooperative and provided inadequate information, which had a material, affect. We didnââ¬â¢t find any institution that formally gather information about real estate business and the structure of the industry. We found only BIDC that undertook a research on real estate in 1991. But after searching different newspaper offices we found some secondary information. We didnââ¬â¢t find any journal in our library as far apartment as well as real estate industry is concerned. Consumers were not homogeneous in determining the factors that persuade them to own an apartment. The scatteredness of the consumer poses limitation in comparison between factors influencing and persuading the decision making process. Methodologyà At first we tried to gather secondary information and secondary data. But the volume of the secondary information was not adequate as a result we conducted a survey. Regarding the collection of the primary data we have prepared a questionnaire and in some extend we interviewed personally (Depth interview). So we may title our report as a combination of quantitative as well as qualitative research. We attached some news bulletin of real estate that may help to visualize the current position. Our sample is composed of 15 consumers and 5 developers. We covered only Dhaka city and selected area namely Gulshan, Bananni, Dhanmondi and Moghbazar. The variables used in our report are income, price, age, occupation, social status, employment and preferences. We followed finding analysis technique to come to a conclusion, which may or may not support our objectives. Background (inception) of the Industry The concept of apartment is not very old. In Dhaka city, The real estate business, especially apartment projects, started in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In Dhaka City, the Ispahani Group was the pioneer in this sector. In the early 1980s with the inception of Eastern Housing LTD, the business started flourishing. The industry growth rate is about 15%. More than 57 real state developers are now operating in this business and it is a booming sector of the economy. From the traditional perspective, people used to live in own house or as rental basis. After the independence, population of Bangladesh had risen very sharply in an alarming population growth rate. Due to this reason the demand of living facilities of huge population became a crucial and challenging problem to optimize the land, which will allow to accommodate a large number of people in relatively small land, the apartment concept had been created to meet the objective. As far Dhaka city is concerned the apartment can provide shelter for the large number of people. This situation welcomed the apartment business to flourish. However, at first the culture and traditional life style became the constraints to adopt this way of living. As time passed people modify their beliefs, attitude and perception. People became interested about the issue while the demand to own an apartment began to rise. Since the late 1980s to now on construction of apartments are increasing. Recently the competition among developers take an intense form that give more bargaining power of buyer over developers. Our report reveals that people are becoming more sensitive about the developers. They are searching for more information about the price, design, features and facilities of the apartment as well as the educational background of the developer. Many factors influence the consumer behavior and family life cycle.

The ââ¬ÅSteadyââ¬Â Person: A look into my own world
People talk a lot about personality or behavior as if itââ¬â¢s such an uncomplicated and unfussy concept, but they end up having difficulty defining it when asked. They are apt to say that it (behavior or personality in general) is something a person ââ¬Å"has. â⬠They describe the behavioral components of particular people in words like ââ¬Å"friendly,â⬠ââ¬Å"nice,â⬠ââ¬Å"forceful,â⬠or ââ¬Å"aggressive,â⬠to paint a picture of what they mean by the term and as a result end, instead, in vague descriptions of how a person usually behaves with other people. On the other hand, when we base our descriptions on concrete and observable actions that people commonly do or adapt, we come up with what experts call as ââ¬Å"behavioral profile. â⬠There are different styles of behavior as well as there are no right and wrong profile. When we come up with correct profiling, the expected result is that we develop ways of getting to know a more concise and a ccurate picture of ourselves, or people in general. Personality is more than poise, charm, or physical appearance. It includes habits, attitudes, and all the physical, emotional, social, religious and moral aspects that a person possesses. However, to be more precise, the explicit behavioral styles covered in the course, perhaps, best captivate an individualââ¬â¢s personality and how he/she is understood. With the different behavioral styles, an overall pattern of various characteristics is seen. Like a ââ¬Å"psychograph,â⬠a personââ¬â¢s profile is pulled together and at a glance, the individual can be compared with other people in terms of relative strengths and weaknesses. Discussion As a person possessing the characteristics given under the Steadiness Style category, I know and accept that this kind of profile has its strong and weak points.People with this behavioral style, working in the sphere of influence or organization they are placed at present, with the distin ctive blind spots commonly tied with this behavior, will (in spite of its comeliness) also experience certain setbacks, especially if the ââ¬Å"weaknessesâ⬠of this behavior are left unaddressed. Strengths of Steadiness Style People under the profile of Steadiness Style are found to be demonstrative, sympathetic, helpful, compassionate, and caring. Unlike the other behavioral styles, these descriptions are common to someone who enjoys people and takes pleasure in working directly with the concerns of individual persons. This is my type. Most of my colleagues and clients find me pleasant. They observe and appreciate the positive traits (strengths) of my ââ¬Å"style. â⬠I have the ear to listen to whatever people would want to say or express. I am naturally a very loyal friend and therefore can be trusted. For me, it is not difficult to work with different people, and thus, I am good at working in a team. My co-workers easily relate to me as we do our work together. Our tas ks in the office are often expedited because of the mutual support we give each other. The positive atmosphere or lack of it in certain places, I observe, is due to different styles, or rather, to the many weaknesses of other behavioral styles. My type of behavior createsââ¬Å"lightnessâ⬠in ambiance, for it is more of other-centered type. It seeks to help and understand. Steadiness Styles go along with others well even when they find certain ââ¬Å"traitsâ⬠in others which are disagreeable. It is always important to keep oneââ¬â¢s composure and to keep the boat calmly sailing. Because of this optimistic outlook that S Style has, people tend to respond in like manner. It begets the same trust, same sympathy, and same support.Weaknesses of Steadiness Style As I have mentioned above, although this behavioral style has its strengths, it also has its weaknesses. In my case, I do not want to disturb the regularity of the condition of my world. I do not want to do things that will somehow upset the status quo. This, I believe, is the main weakness of Steadiness Style. All of the good characteristics of this style might be attributable to this same weakness. In other words, the good points which make Steadiness Style attractive are actually, or may actually be, its way to compensate for its main weakness. From this fear of instability proceeds coping mechanisms which are likeable traits that can actually win people. One of the weaknesses of my style is the fear of risks. Because I do not want to face an unknown future, my tendency is to maintain the security of the present. I do not want to impose certain changes, even when it is necessary, for fear of failure. I am distressed with the prospect of disruptions in my work. If ever there are necessary and inevitable changes that must be taken, I must think them through, create certain schemes/plans, and assimilate the inescapable changes into my world.Steady Style people have difficulty coping with unexpecte d distractions and therefore must always endeavor to maintain poise, constancy, and equilibrium. Another weakness attributable to person with S Style is his/her slowness in decision making. I could not decide alone. I want to include other people ââ¬â my colleagues ââ¬â in any decision that needs to be done. To involve people in decision-making process is in itself cannot be called a weakness. There are times when opinions or expertise of others need to be sought to arrive at a more accurate diagnosis of the real situation; these are times when suggestions and advices are priceless. However, to be held back from a crucial and necessary decision, merely because of fear of implementing necessary steps that might be unpopular in initial stages but beneficial in the long haul, is indecisiveness. It is a weakness which I find interwoven with all the good peculiarities of the Steady type. Conclusion Although there might be more ââ¬Å"strengthsâ⬠or ââ¬Å"weaknessesâ⬠at tributable to Steadiness Style, what have been discussed here in this paper is enough to guide and enable one to understand this type of behavior.A systematic profiling of behaviors is designed to assist anybody ââ¬â employees and employers/managers alike ââ¬â to gain a better understanding of the differences inherent in different behavioral styles, and so be able, as a result, to work proficiently with other people who are framed with diverse styles of behavior. Remember, there is/are no right and wrong profile/s. Each behavioral profile is distinct and has its combined strengths and weaknesses. Our different styles are just statements of our uniqueness/distinctives on how we opt to do things. When understood properly, these differences of styles can be utilized to achieve excellent ends. If, on the other hand, this crucial understanding of behavioral types is bypassed, it creates a myriad of otherwise preventable problems. It is important that ââ¬Å"blind spotsâ⬠be p ut into light as in the case of Steadiness Style treated in this paper. Itââ¬â¢s difficult to think of this ââ¬Å"typeâ⬠as having negative sides. According to studies, it is of the four styles, the most people-oriented. How could such a style retain with it bad qualities when it appears to be so ââ¬Å"selflessâ⬠in nature?I have given the answers to the question when I pointed out the weaknesses of this behavioral style. With the understanding then that is gained through the discussion in this paper, the hope and prospect of the writer is better working relations with others who do not possess the same style of behavior as the one treated here. My Brother essays
My Brother essays The social forces of the world today have a tremendous impact on a persons life. Social forces can make you change the way you think, the way you act, and even your personality, especially on early teens. In some cases people dont realize it is changing them. My brother, Beau, attends school in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He is a 4.0 honor student and president of his class. He plays football, basketball, baseball, and wrestles. He is Mr. Popular amongst his fellow classmates, but on February 5, 1999 this would all change. Beau was wrestling at a tournament in Sulfur, Oklahoma on February 5, 1999. He had made it to the championship match later that evening. The match was going well. Beau was ahead 5 to 3 until disaster struck. Billy Thompson, the person my brother was wrestling, had Beau in a headlock. Beau then put his foot behind Billys feet in order to trip him, but Billy held on. My brother landed on the top of his head breaking his neck between the first and second vertebrae. Imminently he was rushed to the nearby hospital in Sulfur. The radiologist said he had a strained neck muscle and sent him home in a soft collar brace. The next day Beau went to the doctor in Shawnee and she imminently referred him to the neurosurgeon in Oklahoma City, Dr. Hisie. Dr. Hisie found the break and scheduled a surgery. The surgery lasted about 4 hours. They took bone off of Beaus him and fused the vertebrae together. After 4 months in a neck restraint, they realized that the fusion did not work. Th ey attempted the same surgery again, but this time putting him in a halo. After another 4 month the fusion had worked. Beau then went through 6 months of physical therapy before he was able to play sports again. Altogether the process took about 2 years. He now is starting practice for the basketball team in Shawnee. ...

How they change Essays - Fahrenheit 451, Social Science Fiction
How they change Essays - Fahrenheit 451, Social Science Fiction Lauren Sladic English 9 6th Hour Ms. Henderhan 12 March 2015 How they change In Ray Bradburys Fahrenheit 451, Montag begins to challenge conformity and question society throughout the book. Bradbury begins part two with Montag acting very suspicious when he could feel the energy of the electric hound outside his door, The cold rain falling. And the smell of blue electricity blowing under the locked door. Lets get back to work, Montag said quietly (68). As Montags anxiousness triggers a fight between him and Mildred he shows his change as he wouldve never argued with Mildred before.
